Dream House

This house is such a lovely one I couldn't help myself I rolled down the window of my jeep and took a picture! It would be a dream come true to live in such a lovely place.
I wish my hubby might like... I don't know he really loves the land has now. Why aren't guys into landscaping, flowers and trees? Sigh......

Family Night BBQ

My sister invited us over for Family night on Monday. She had all her fun summer red white and blue decorations out.
I was introduced to Guitar Hero. That was really fun to strum along with favorite rock songs. A lot of the selection took me back in time to High School memories. My B.I.L. was totally awesome at it!
It was really neat after the kids were in bed we played games outside inside the canopy/gazebo with flickering candle light.
It was also fun to shrink back into a kid that talked until the wee hours of the night with my best friend of my youth, my mom!
It was a fun slumber party!

Oh my Birds!

This morning I was putting in some laundry when I hear a really loud chirping but a bird in distress sound. Thinking perhaps it was the Silkie rooster trying to crow I opened the back door to listen. Our laundry room door has a broken storm door with only the bottom half which is metal in tack and the top is open. When I opened the door a gray bird with 14" wing span flew into the house! Another one was about to fly in but I shut the door. It seems both flew in to the door way and the two of them were stuck sitting in the space between the two doors there. Outside on the deck there were 4 more of the same kind of bird flying around calling to them.
The one who flew in my house gave me a chase he flew down stairs. Eventually I cornered him in the girls closet. I dumped out a clear plastic tub of toys and used it to capture the bird. Which I took outside to his friends and let out the one still between the doors. Then I opened the tub and let that one go too. It was pretty cool that all his friends hovered around to see them be freed. As soon as they were they all flew away. Hopefully the poor birds are totally Okay. And I hope my touching the one I chased won't be bad for me or him! I washed my hands immediately you never know! What excitement this morning and it isn't even 8 am yet!

CLoset cleanUp!

I suppose when you have a huge closet you never really HAVE to organize it.
My last house had a huge 12'x15' closet with a his side and a her side with a lot of space.
This house has a walk in closet so that is good but the space is much smaller 5'x6' and corner wall is diagonal and so it isn't a square and that cuts out some of the space.
We have vaulted-sloping ceilings and looking up I saw lots of space there to use. So far all that would happen is this I fold it, put it up there and because of the quantity it all slid off during the day into a heap. So today I tackled my problem and put up another bar for hanging.
It is high but I can put seasonal items up there that I am not going to be wearing right now.
I actually really love the space it frees up to put up all my dresses and skirts! I also boxed up winter sweaters and tucked them into a nook of the closet. Then I hung my hats up!
My hats have longed to be up and seen! Now I walk into my closet and feel happy.
I went to a seminar once where the woman speaking told us clean out your closets and your whole life will change for the better.
