Great Words

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political
prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.
In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who
should labor to subvert these great pillars of human
happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and
citizens...   Let it simply be asked, where is the security for
property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious
obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of
investigation in courts of justice?  And let us with caution
indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained
without religion.  Whatever may be conceded to the
influence of refined education... reason and experience both
forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in
exclusion of religious principle."  George Washington

From Farewell Address

What an inspired man.  Even a man set apart by the God of
Heaven.

In the world today I fear we are far from where we should be.

How important it is to teach our children to recognize the counterfeit "truths" of the world,

and recognize the Eternal Truths God has set up for our happiness and real liberty!

Alma 61:14

Therefore, my beloved brother, Moroni, let us resist evil, and whatsoever evil we cannot resist with our words, yea, such as rebellions and dissensions, let us resist them with our [good examples], that we may retain our freedom, that we may rejoice in the great privilege of our church, and in the cause of our Redeemer and our God.
