This quilt pattern called Bird Song is by Fig Tree Quilts. I bought my pattern from Keepsake Quilting. I really like this applique quilt.
I already have a collection of pretty fabric posted previous- the blue and rose collection.
My sis asked me what I plan to do if I have a boy this time. I actually think this quilt can work nicely for a boy and still be in the blue and rose bedroom. Babies don't have to have certain colors its the mommies who are so picky. LOL.
So when I find out the gender of this little one I will finalize the ultimate color layout but it will have the beautiful Seaside Rose blue fabric on it for sure. Just don't know how many eggs will be pink over blue ;)

Seaside Rose
Found this pretty fabric online at QuiltHome.com. I loved it right away too. This pretty fabric is designed by 3 sisters in their group called Seaside Rose.
I have a room painted in a soft sea blue and I love roses. At first I was just thinking of a curtain-valance, but when I received my order I loved it so much I wanted to do more!
I have sewn baby quilts and had success with those. They are much smaller and so the idea of a larger size is a bit daunting. Yet 2 twin beds called me to do more. The fact that nothing ready made even came close to the pretty fabric I had already found was also a big draw. I could have my pretty fabric choice by sewing my own quilts. So here I go. I may regret this later when I have to quilt the layers but so far the fabrics have rewarded me just by being so pretty as I sew them.
I am doing what is called a Snowball 9 patch. i found this color in sheet to help deside where to put my pieces to get a look I liked. It was fun to do and my girls even made up their own color designs too.
There are lots of online places for inspiration and for direction too. Lots of ladies also post pictures of their completed quilts as well. So I am hoping my quilt will continue into a completed project and be posted and inspire someone too.
Here is a quilting step by step click on the picture or here for directions.

Hear is a bite just for you!
You want the pancake to have a golden brown appearance.Swedish Pancakes with Whole Wheat flour
In a medium bowl whisk together 3 eggs and 1 cup of Milk
In another bowl sift together 1 1/2 cups white flour with 1 cup of Whole wheat flour
add 1 Tblsp of Sugar and 1/2 tsp of Salt
add to the eggs and milk whisking well (no lumps)
add 1 1/2 Cups Milk and 2 Tblsp of melted Butter (real butter is key to this) & Whisk
Pre-Heat your pan on Medium heat and melt butter or spray to prevent sticking
your pan needs to be hot before you pour the batter

pour in 1/3 cup batter into your pan rotate it around to make a thin layer (these are similar to crepes in that they need to be thin)
Cook for a 1 1/2 minutes or so until you see that the top is not shiny or liquid and the pancake pulls away from the pan easily. I like to go around the edge of the cake while its cooking with my spatula to loosen the edge which is the place it likes to stick the most.
Then you start stacking them up and cooking the rest.
Good luck
My girls like them right out of the pan so I don't really get a stack.
In fact I cut them in half and that way the one kiddo isn't eating in front of the other causing tears.

When will I be a Grown up?
One of my favorite questions I have always asked is this...
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
I have asked teachers, siblings, old beaus, my kids, myself and my hubby this question.
In fact I remember asking a Jr. high choir teacher this question and she shrugged and said she didn't feel grown up yet. We had a sorta deep conversation then for a 13 year old.
Now here I am I am wondering when I will Feel like I am a grown up?
I actually think it will never happen!
Mostly because I think you have to stop having dreams to grow up. Who wants to do that!
Like I want to own a Bed and Breakfast when I grow up.
I want to compile a fabulous collection into a book when I grow up.
I want to do so many different things when I am a grown up.
and lots more before then, lots of sewing and painting too.
I ask my hubby what he wants to be when he grows up nearly every time we go on a date.
He always chuckles and says something like
"We are UP."
Nope even if I am pregnant with babes Number 4, I am not really all grown up.
I am still the little girl in the 8th grade talking to my choir teacher and believing I will never be a grown up and the whole world is mine for the taking.
I think I like it better that way.
